Legs spinning wildly, pedaling like mad, dust in my eyes and trailing out behind me as I tear around the curves, bouncing over rocks and roots. Beads of sweat drip down my face, tracing their way through a light film of dirt. My breathing heavy, he taunts me, leading me farther and farther away. I push hard so as to keep him in sight. Like the birds around us we flit in and out of the trees, the lake blue and wild against the rugged rocks far below. The gap between us closes as the narrow path we chase widens and we quickly find ourselves side by side. Our eyes meet. Giddy like children, laughter erupts from each of us and we share a kiss.
