My most recent escape was a backpacking trip I took over the past few days to Havasu Canyon. Located within the Havasupai Indian Reservation at the southwest corner of Grand Canyon National Park, this land of blue-green waters should be on everyone’s bucket list.
Escaping for me meant getting away with my guy, having no phone/internet communication with the outside world, just getting ourselves out there under our own power to experience a truly magical location together.
From the campground we climbed down Mooney Falls and hiked on to Beaver Falls, splashing, floating and cavorting through the many aquamarine waterfalls en route. Feeling as if we were off in some far away exotic land, we had found our perfect escape.
On the trip back to camp we startled this little bighorn who appears to be looking for an escape as well.
