I run… I run trails. I am not so much into competing, or even training for that matter, but I find myself getting out there for the overall experience of running through the wild, enjoying nature. Chance encounters with wildlife totally make my day.
After spending 25 years in the Las Vegas area, I’ve just recently relocated to Bend, Oregon. I can’t stop ogling the stunning mountains that stand out above the town, a mere glance speeds up my pulse tenfold. Those mountains, in combination with the Deschutes River running in the foreground, make me want to pull out an easel and paint or sketch. I’m not an artist, the results would not be pretty, but the scenery steals my breath, has captured my soul, and I am moved in ways I cannot quite understand. There is much to be explored here, both outdoors and within me.
On my site, you’ll find a variety of topics, from new places I discover (businesses, restaurants, fun outdoor locales, brewpubs, etc.) to random experiences with a murder of crows, a band of wild horses, or observations of and encounters with interesting folks.
I am a freelance writer/photographer, a contributor to Breathe Magazine (Breathemag.ca) so I also post the articles I’ve written for the magazine on this site as well. I am known to take quite a few photos and I like to share them — primarily photos of scenery, wildlife, or unusual sights I encounter while out and about.
I hope you’ll like what you find here. Perhaps you can relate, or at least enjoy the photos that I share. Comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks for taking a look.
